Build Your Own DIY Wakesurf Board

Want to learn how to build your own custom wakesurf board?

Join us at the Shore Boards workshop for a DIY Wakesurf Workshop this Winter!

Our 4-session course is designed to unlock your creativity, and allow for you to build the board of your dreams! With no prior experience necessary, we will guide you through each step to ensure you leave with a board you are truly proud of.

Our class starts with you choosing from a variety of premium materials like Cedar & Paulownia. From there, we will guide you to design, frame, and finish your masterpiece. We even allow for you to provide us with personalized artwork that we can laser into the board! How cool is that?

This course will be limited to 5 builds per session to ensure everyone gets plenty of guidance throughout the entire process. At the end of our DIY workshop, you will walk away with the board of your dreams and an experience you will never forget!

Our DIY Wakesurf Board Workshop

Using Shore Boards’ tried & true techniques we’ll guide you each step of the way which will ensure the final product will be something you’ll be extremely proud of!

This 4-session course will typically take place from 6-9pm on consecutive nights. For private classes scheduling depends on both our schedules. However, if you’re not located in Minnesota ask us about our “Out-of-Towner” exclusive package which essentially is a crash course to build a Wakesurf board of your dreams over a 1 night stay here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes! Choose the “Out-of-Town” package as your Class Date during checkout, and we’ll work directly to get something on the calendar.

During our course, you will pick your wood, design your board, frame it, and do most of the finishing. The only thing you don’t do is the epoxy coating as this requires much more time & has to be done perfectly to ensure proper performance of the board you just worked so hard to make.

Once the board is finished, you can either pick it up if you’re local, or we will ship the board to you for non-residents. Shipping is a $75 flat rate in the continental USA.

By the end of the 4-session course you’ll have built your own hollow wood Wakesurf board! Congrats!!

Please Note: The tuition cost for the course includes the glassing stage which will be performed by the Shore Boards staff. The board will also be equipped with Shore Boards Traction (Black Pad w/White Arch), or a cork pad offered by EcoPro which is stellar!! You also have your choice of Shore Board fins (1″ or 1.5″ Fins).

Sidenote: We offer private sessions, but they require at least 2 boards to be built in the session. Contact us direct if you are interested in a private session.
